Iran Announces Incident with Ships Violating Safe Route in the Strait of Hormuz
Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced that two out of four ships that allegedly violated the designated safe navigation route in the Strait of Hormuz were involved in an accident, while the other two changed their course. This development was shared by Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency. The statement claimed that the four ships, which are said to have received support from the US, turned off their navigation systems and ignored warnings from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps' Hormuz Strait Control Center, attempting to pass through an unsafe route. It was reported that two of the ships were involved in an accident and stopped at their location, while the other two terminated their navigation through the unsafe route and changed direction. The statement emphasized that the control of the Strait of Hormuz is entirely within the authority of the Revolutionary Guards, and only pre-determined and announced safe routes can be used. It was also reiterated that no ship carrying oil, natural gas, or chemical fertilizers can pass through the Strait of Hormuz without coordination and permission from Iranian authorities.
