Housing Sales in June Increased by 15.8 Percent

According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), a total of 129,979 houses were sold in June. This figure corresponds to a 15.8 percent increase compared to the same month of the previous year.The number of first-hand housing sales in June increased by 23.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 43,406. Second-hand housing sales increased by 12.5 percent in the same period, reaching 86,573. The share of first-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 33.4 percent, while the share of second-hand sales was 66.6 percent.The number of housing sales made to foreigners in June increased by 20.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2,015. The most housing sales to foreigners were made to citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and Iran, with 381, 170, and 170 sales, respectively.
