Turkmenistan Reacts to Attack in the Caspian Sea

Following an attack on a trade ship in the Caspian Sea, the Turkmenistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement. The statement emphasized that attacks on civilian ships in the Caspian Sea are never acceptable.

The Turkmenistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a written statement on its official website, condemning the incident after reports appeared in the international press. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had announced that on Saturday, July 25, the Ukrainian army targeted an Iranian-flagged trade ship in the Caspian Sea. In the attack on the ship, which was carrying civilian cargo from the Russian port of Astrakhan to the Iranian port of Anzali, one sailor lost his life and another was injured.
