Ferry Disaster Off Guyana: Over 100 People Missing

A ferry accident in Guyana, a country in South America, has caused widespread concern. The MV Barima ferry, which was carrying 116 passengers, capsized while traveling from Georgetown to Port Kaituma. According to officials, an emergency alert was received at around 23:00 local time and rescue efforts were immediately initiated. Minister Juan Edghill stated that search operations are ongoing for the 116 passengers and the crew. The ferry was equipped with 250 life jackets, 2 lifeboats, and 6 inflatable life rafts.
