Toy Left on Window Sill Explodes: 12-Year-Old Undergoes Skin Graft

In a shocking incident in England, a stress toy left on a window sill exploded and burned the foot of 12-year-old Avyaan Narula. The child underwent a skin graft operation due to severe burns caused by the hot liquid.On the day of the incident, the popular stress toy, known as a NeeDoh cube, was exposed to direct sunlight on the windowsill. The liquid inside the toy overheated and caused it to explode, splashing a sticky and hot substance onto Avyaan's foot.Avyaan's mother, Aarti Narula, rushed to her son's side after hearing his screams from the kitchen and washed the sticky substance off his foot with cold water. However, the substance was difficult to remove from the skin, and soon after, large blisters formed on the child's foot, and numbness began to set in.As the situation worsened, the child was rushed to the emergency room at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, where doctors determined that a skin graft was necessary due to the severity of the burns.The child underwent surgery on July 20. The medical team used healthy skin from the same leg, taken from the thigh area, to cover the damaged area on Avyaan's foot.Aarti Narula, an NHS staff member, warned other families about the dangers of the toy, which had been purchased months earlier and had been used safely before. She emphasized that the toy's inability to withstand high temperatures poses a significant risk. "These cubes are extremely dangerous and are sold everywhere. If the liquid inside is not heat-resistant and can explode, it's a serious threat. Keep your children away from these products," she said.Official statements were released by Lidl, the supermarket chain that sold the toy, and Schylling Toys, the manufacturer, following the incident.
