New Development in Gülistan Doku Case: 2 Suspects Arrested, Number of Arrests Reaches 27

In the investigation into Gülistan Doku, 2 out of 5 suspects who were detained have been arrested, while 2 have been released under judicial control. The procedures of the suspects who were detained in a simultaneous operation in 16 provinces on July 27, under the instruction of the Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, have been completed at the gendarmerie.The suspects, who were subjected to health checks, were brought to the Erzurum Courthouse under security measures. Four of the suspects were referred to the court with a request for arrest after their procedures at the prosecutor's office. The court decided to arrest 2 suspects and release 2 suspects under judicial control with a ban on leaving the country. The procedures of one of the suspects are still ongoing. Thus, the number of arrests in the investigations conducted by the Erzurum and Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices has increased to 27. In the operation, 19 suspects, including a police chief, police commissioner, chief commissioner, commissioner, chief police officer, 10 police officers, a computer operator, and 3 retired police officers, were detained. After their procedures at the gendarmerie, 8 suspects were referred to the court, one of whom was released after their procedures at the prosecutor's office, while 6 of the 7 suspects were referred to the criminal court of first instance with a request for arrest, and one with a request for release under judicial control.
