Young National Table Tennis Player Görkem Öçal Becomes European Champion

The 14-year-old talented national table tennis player Görkem Öçal, supported by Team Akfen Construction, achieved a significant success in the Junior and Youth European Table Tennis Championship held in Portugal. In the tournament in Gondomar, Portugal, Öçal became the champion in the U15 Singles category. He won the gold medal by defeating his Swedish opponent Emil Ellermann 4-0. Öçal's performance in the semi-final was also notable. Despite falling behind 2-0 against the Spanish player Ladimir Mayorov, Öçal made a strong comeback and won the match 4-2, advancing to the final. The young national table tennis player also competed with Ela Su Yönter in the U15 Mixed Doubles category at the same event and won the European silver medal. Thus, he completed the championship with one gold and one silver medal.
