Update on Temporary Import Regulations for Vehicles

The Turkish Ministry of Trade has updated the regulations for vehicles temporarily imported by individuals living abroad.The ministry's relevant decree was published in the Official Gazette and has come into effect.Vehicles owned by individuals who are retired from abroad are granted a 730-day period. The definition of the retirement certificate has also been revised in the updated decree.According to this, the document proving retirement will be accepted as the certificate issued under the social security legislation of the relevant country and its Turkish translation.The regulations regarding individuals who will use the vehicle other than the right holder have also been updated.According to this, vehicles temporarily imported under tourist facilities can be used by the spouse or relatives of the right holder. The vehicle can also be used by other individuals if the right holder is present in the vehicle.
