Gaza Ceasefire: CENTCOM Commander Cooper Affirms Commitment to 15-Point Plan

US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Brad Cooper has affirmed the US commitment to a 15-point plan for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to representatives of the International Stabilization Force. Cooper visited the Civil-Military Coordination Center in Israel's Kiryat Gat, where he met with US troops and representatives of the multinational force. Cooper stated that the US is committed to the ceasefire agreement and will work to implement it in accordance with the agreements. The United Nations Security Council's decision to authorize the Peace Council has approved the establishment of an 'International Stabilization Force' for Gaza. However, the legal framework for the force has not yet been clarified, and it is unclear when the troops will begin to be deployed in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously stated that Israel would not accept the second phase of the ceasefire plan, which includes 15 points. Netanyahu said that the Israeli army would not withdraw from the occupied areas in the Gaza Strip until Hamas is completely disarmed.
