Journalist Tahir Sarıkaya Detained and Later Arrested

Journalist Tahir Sarıkaya, who was detained yesterday as part of an investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was taken to the Istanbul Courthouse after completing his procedures at the gendarmerie.After giving his statement to the prosecutor, Sarıkaya was referred to the criminal court of peace with a request for his arrest.The court ruled for Sarıkaya's arrest.Another journalist, Cem Küçük, was also arrested earlier as part of the same investigation on charges of 'disseminating misleading information to the public' and 'extortion'.
