G7 Countries Provided $45.5 Billion in Credit to Ukraine from Frozen Russian Assets

The amount of credit provided by G7 countries to Ukraine, using the income from frozen Russian assets as collateral, has reached a total of $45.5 billion as of the end of May. This data was revealed through analysis of the numbers shared by the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.The first step in this process was taken by the US in 2024, with an allocation of $1 billion. However, the Washington administration did not provide any new financing to Kiev through this mechanism in the subsequent period. Other G7 members also transferred $37.9 billion in credit to Ukraine in 2025 and $6.6 billion in 2026.The G7 leaders had approved a credit package of approximately $50 billion to be provided to Ukraine from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets in 2024.
