FSB Foils Ukrainian Agent's Plot in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, Russia, a Ukrainian agent was caught by FSB and police teams while preparing a bomb attack.
The detained individual was planning to carry out an assassination attempt on a defense industry employee. The FSB shared details of the operation, stating that the agent was carrying a homemade explosive device disguised as a GPS tracking device, intended to be placed under the vehicle of a critical defense industry facility employee.
During the suspect's interrogation, it was learned that they confessed to the crime. The suspect allegedly initiated contact with their Ukrainian handler voluntarily and carried out illegal activities for payment.
The FSB found that the agent was gathering intelligence on employees of the Defense Industry Complex in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, and was transmitting confidential information, maps, and geodetic data to foreign special services.
The successful completion of the operation prevented a potential terrorist act and sabotage attempt.
