France Summoned Iranian Chargé d'Affaires to Express Discontent

Following the detention of French diplomatic personnel by Iranian authorities, France summoned the Iranian Chargé d'Affaires to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.After the summons, the French Foreign Ministry stated that it demanded the clarification of the attack on French diplomatic personnel and the punishment of those responsible.The statement noted that the Chargé d'Affaires was summoned at the request of French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, following a serious harassment incident against embassy staff.French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot previously stated that two employees at the embassy in Tehran were detained without reason by Iranian security forces, in violation of their diplomatic immunity, and were returned to the embassy after hours of interrogation.
