FIFA Crisis Meeting: Infantino to Continue as President

Following a high-level meeting in Rabat, FIFA announced that Gianni Infantino will continue as president. In a statement, it was revealed that Infantino apologized to the FIFA Council and member federations for not consulting them regarding the transfer of World Cup rights. FIFA stated that Infantino's leadership team has its full support and confirmed that the FIFA Forward Enterprise project has been completely removed from the agenda. The crisis was sparked by a proposal to sell a portion of FIFA's commercial rights to private investors without sufficient consultation. Now, FIFA has announced that the process will be thoroughly examined and a report will be presented at the next meeting.FIFA emphasized that it will not tolerate attacks on its integrity, good governance, and decision-making processes. However, UEFA is not expected to back down. The European football governing body will continue to work towards fielding a candidate against Infantino in the FIFA presidential elections scheduled for next March.
