Attack on Cemetery in Fatih: Police Searching for Suspect

The historic district of Fatih in Istanbul witnessed an attack on the Haydarhane Camisi Haziresi cemetery in the İskenderpaşa neighborhood on the evening of July 31. A person, for reasons still unknown, damaged several headstones in the cemetery. The suspect broke 7 headstones using kicks and stones, then left the pieces in an empty area near the cemetery. As bystanders reacted to the incident, the suspect fled the scene.Following the report by the mosque's imam, police units were dispatched to the area. The police launched an investigation to identify the suspect and the motives behind the act. As the search for the suspect continues, law enforcement is considering all possibilities to shed light on the incident.
