Fatih Altaylı Speaks About Ahbap Association Investigation

Journalist Fatih Altaylı gave a statement about the Ahbap Association investigation. Altaylı described Haluk Levent as 'a gambler, a man who has been imprisoned for fraud'. Altaylı stated that he had previously held positive views about Levent's association but later realized that Levent was not trustworthy. Altaylı said, 'I am sorry, even regretful, for having given support to Haluk Levent and Ahbap Association, which they did not deserve.' Ahbap Association was involved in aid efforts during the 2020 forest fires and the 2023 Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes. However, Altaylı had advocated for the association's auditing due to Levent's past gambling and financial crimes. Altaylı mentioned that Levent sent him a message saying, 'You are absolutely right, my brother, we had an audit about 10 months ago. We are regularly audited. After the audit, I will account for every penny in live broadcasts, my word is my bond, let this message stay here.' However, shortly after this message, Levent was taken into custody. Altaylı stated that he did not provide any financial assistance to Ahbap Association or Haluk Levent, and that he only advocated for the association's professional auditing in his writings and Youtube videos.
