Landslide in Ethiopia: 14 People Killed in Monastery

A landslide that occurred during a nighttime prayer service at a monastery in Ethiopia's Amhara region resulted in the deaths of 14 people. The disaster, which followed heavy rainfall, also injured 7 people, and search operations for those believed to be under the debris have been completed.Landslides are a common natural disaster in Ethiopia, particularly during the rainy season. The General Director of the diocese stated that most of the victims had gathered to receive holy water. After the completion of search and rescue efforts, authorities reported that 11 people were buried at the monastery, while the remaining bodies were handed over to their families.
