Etimesgut Municipality Corruption Investigation: 40 Suspects Detained

A significant development has occurred in the corruption investigation into Etimesgut Municipality, conducted by the Ankara West Public Prosecutor's Office. Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu and 40 others have been detained. The investigation is being carried out on allegations of tender irregularities, bribery, embezzlement, fraud, and organized crime.The investigation was launched based on allegations of irregularities in certain tenders carried out by Etimesgut Municipality, as well as the preparation of fake documents, and unfair benefits obtained through parking lease transactions and construction permit processes. A comprehensive examination of the municipality's various tender and project processes is being conducted as part of the investigation.It was announced that 42 of the suspects are municipal officials, while 13 are company officials. The investigation is expected to continue with the indictment process following the court's detention decision.
