Estonia to Establish Military Base Near Russian Border

Estonia is preparing to construct its first military settlement in the city of Narva, which is located near the Russian border. The base, designed to accommodate 1,000 personnel and house units of the 1st Infantry Brigade, will have a permanent contingent of approximately 200 soldiers.
According to Ando Voogma, Project Manager at the Estonian Defence Investment Centre, construction of the primary military settlement in Narva, near the Russian border, is expected to commence by the end of the year. Voogma stated that the project will be executed in a single phase and is anticipated to be completed by the summer of 2028, with an initial deployment of 150 soldiers.
As reported by the Estonian General Staff, the Narva settlement will host a unit affiliated with the 1st Infantry Brigade. The facility, planned to have a total capacity of 1,000 personnel, will have a permanent contingent of approximately 200 soldiers.
