Clash in Eskişehir: Jandarma Under Fire, 1 Martyred

A jandarma team responding to a fight report in Eskişehir's Mihalıççık district came under fire, resulting in the martyrdom of Jandarma Uzman Çavuş Mehmet Demirbaş. In the Narlı Mahallesi neighborhood, a suspect allegedly arguing with his family began firing into the air. Upon receiving the report, the jandarma team was dispatched to the scene and came under fire. Jandarma Uzman Çavuş Mehmet Demirbaş was injured and later martyred at the hospital despite medical intervention. The suspect was neutralized, and Narlı Mahallesi Muhtarı Mutlu Şahin and another jandarma officer were also injured in the incident. The news of Demirbaş's martyrdom reached his family, and the Turkish flag was raised at his home. Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi shared a condolence message for the martyr on social media.
