Former Fenerbahce President Sadettin Saran and Anchor Ela Rümeysa Cebeci Indictment Completed

The indictment prepared for former Fenerbahce Sports Club President Sadettin Saran and anchor Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, as part of the narcotics investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has been completed and sent to the Istanbul Heavy Penal Court. The prosecutor's office requested that both suspects be sentenced to imprisonment for no less than 10 years for the crime of "Narcotics or Stimulant Trade or Provision". Anchor Ela Rümeysa Cebeci was detained twice as part of the investigation and arrested after the second detention. Cebeci, who benefited from the effective repentance provisions, gave statements multiple times and was released after spending approximately 4 months in prison. Businessman Sadettin Saran was released on judicial control after being detained as part of the investigation. Saran, who gave a statement at the prosecutor's office over the weekend, stated that he met Ela Rümeysa Cebeci about three years ago and never used narcotics with her. A message from Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, included in the witness statements in the investigation file, was also asked to Saran. Saran, in his defense regarding this message, stated, "It's a metaphor we developed among ourselves, based on quotes from a movie we watched. I have absolutely no connection to such a thing".
