Former President Evo Morales Faces Third Arrest Warrant

A third arrest warrant has been issued for former President Evo Morales due to his role in government protests in Bolivia. Morales deemed these charges as politically motivated and stated that he will continue his fight. The anti-government protests, which involved the closure of roads in the western and central parts of the country, lasted for about seven weeks in May and June. At least 16 people lost their lives during these demonstrations, and the country's economy suffered damages exceeding $3 billion. Morales has been staying in the Cochabamba region to avoid the execution of an arrest warrant issued against him in a separate investigation into human trafficking.In total, three separate arrest warrants have been issued for Morales, who was also declared a fugitive in May. Through social media, Morales accused the government of trying to hide the country's deep economic and social crisis. Stating that the responsibility for the protests is being attributed to him, Morales said, 'They will not intimidate us. We will continue to fight for honor, sovereignty, social justice, and hope alongside our people.'
