The 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake that Shook Indonesia
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Indonesia's Flores region. This powerful earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers and was followed by aftershocks ranging from 5.6 to 6.1 in magnitude. The Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that 14 people were killed and 13 injured in the earthquake. The condition of two of the injured was reported to be severe. Images of the destruction caused by the earthquake have emerged, and damage assessment efforts have begun. According to initial reports, 54 houses sustained heavy damage, 9 houses had moderate damage, and 11 houses had minor damage, resulting in a total of 74 houses being affected.
