US Military Aircraft Activity Increases in Eastern Mediterranean and Persian Gulf
There has been a noticeable increase in the activity of US military aircraft in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf. According to Flightradar24 data, numerous KC-135R Stratotanker and KC-46 Pegasus refueling aircraft are operating in the region. The tension between the US and Iran has escalated, contributing to this heightened activity. An examination by AA's flight tracking platform Flightradar24 revealed an unusual density of US military aircraft in the area on July 8. The majority of the aircraft detected were Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker refueling planes, capable of carrying approximately 90 tons of fuel and 37 tons of cargo. Four KC-135R Stratotankers were observed over the Eastern Mediterranean, and one over Israel, while five KC-135R Stratotankers and two Boeing KC-46 Pegasus refueling and strategic military transport aircraft were spotted over the Persian Gulf.
