Danger in the Stream: Leech Found in 5-Year-Old's Throat

In Siirt's Baykan district, a 5-year-old child, M.E., who drank water from a stream, was found to have a leech in his throat. The child was treated after the intervention. M.E. was taken to Siirt Education and Research Hospital by his family due to his illness. In the examination by Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialists Op. Dr. Yasin Gökçınar and Op. Dr. Aydın Turan, a leech was found behind the child's right tonsil. With the doctors' intervention, the leech was removed from the throat, and the child's treatment was completed after 15 days of nose and mouth bleeding.
