In the Serik district of Antalya, a caretta caretta hatchling heading towards the sea from its nest was killed after entering a fire that had been lit on the beach and not extinguished.The incident was discovered by teams working to protect caretta caretta in the area. It was determined that the hatchling had died the day before after passing over the unextinguished fire and getting burned.Professor Ali Fuat Canbolat, Chairman of the Ecological Research Association (EKAD), stated that security teams are working to identify the individuals who lit the fire on the beach.
