Search Efforts Continue for 60-Year-Old Mountaineer Missing on Cilo Mountain
A 60-year-old experienced mountaineer, Yüksel Işık, has gone missing on Cilo Mountain in Hakkari, Turkey, since Monday. Işık, who came from Bursa on July 13 to Cennet Cehennem Vadisi's Bala Yaylası, was last heard from after he began his ascent to the summit of Cilo Mountains.Search efforts are ongoing, with teams from AFAD, Jandarma Arama Kurtarma, UMKE, fire department, and gendarmerie, as well as security guards, focusing on the area where Işık set up camp and started his climb. With support from Van AFAD Provincial Directorate, the area is being scanned using unmanned aerial vehicles, and the climbing route is being carefully checked.Hakkari Governor and Deputy Mayor İbrahim Taşyapan visited the search area in Bala Yaylası, received updates from the teams, and stated that the search and rescue efforts are being carried out meticulously in coordination with all institutions. Taşyapan expressed his hope to reach the missing person safely as soon as possible and thanked the teams for their efforts.The search for the elderly mountaineer continues, with security guards and teams trying to track his trail in the area where the search efforts are concentrated. All possible means are being utilized to ensure the safety of the missing mountaineer.
