Severe Floods Hit Northern China: Roads Underwater, Thousands Stranded

Severe floods have hit northern China, submerging roads and vehicles. Following the Bavi Typhoon, increased rainfall has left thousands stranded, with numerous train services canceled and red flood warnings issued in some areas. The floods, which have affected Hebei and Liaoning provinces, have paralyzed life in many settlements. According to local official media, water levels in Kuancheng County, Hebei, have risen above 2 meters in some areas. In the county, which has a population of around 240,000, many vehicles have been swept away by strong currents, and floodwaters have completely covered roads. China's state television, CCTV, has reported that approximately 1,800 people are stranded in Kuancheng, with local authorities prioritizing the evacuation and relocation of citizens to safe areas. Authorities have warned that new rainfall could further increase the flood risk.
