CHP MP Veli Ağbaba's Nephew Detained

As the investigation into corruption allegations continues, it has been learned that Ahmet Can Ağbaba, the nephew of CHP Malatya MP Veli Ağbaba, has been taken into custody.The investigation, led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, found that Ağbaba's account had received large amounts of money from unknown sources. This development comes after the 'bribery' investigation into the CHP-led Seferihisar Municipality in İzmir.As part of the investigation, Ağbaba's advisor Özlem Akyılmaz was previously arrested. Akyılmaz denied the bribery allegations, stating that the bank transfers in question were made to provide scholarships to earthquake-affected students.Akyılmaz also claimed that the 500,000 lira sent to her account in exchange for building permits for 6 villas in Seferihisar was not a bribe, but rather a donation for the people affected by the earthquakes in Malatya.
