Resignation from CHP: Ümit Dikbayır's Decision

Republican People's Party (CHP) Sakarya Deputy Ümit Dikbayır announced his resignation from the party. Dikbayır shared his views on this decision through his social media account.

The reason for my decision is not the history, base, or values of the Republican People's Party. My objection is to the fact that despite occupying the highest positions in the party, it still cannot escape the shadow of personal accounts, grudges, and political ambitions. While Turkey needs calmness, reason, and a sense of responsibility, I do not accept the party being turned into a tool for one person's endless showdowns. The positions in the party founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk cannot be a stage for personal gain and past revenge. I do not think it is right for a party that is supposed to be a beacon of hope for Turkey to be dragged into polarization, purges, and political intrigue for the sake of one person's personal showdowns. My objection is not to the Republican People's Party, but to those who use the legacy of the Republic as a means to sustain their own political existence. That is why I am resigning from my membership in the Republican People's Party.
