Czech Republic to Ban Mobile Phone Use in Schools?

The Czech government is preparing a regulation to ban the use of mobile phones and other electronic communication devices in schools.
According to a bill proposed by Prime Minister Andrej Babis and Education Minister Robert Plaga, the ban will apply to all schools from kindergarten to high school. The regulation will also cover breaks and after-school programs, but students with medical or special educational needs will be exempt.
The Ombudsman for Children, Martin Benes, has spoken out against the proposal, arguing that schools should be able to regulate phone use according to their own rules.
