Çankaya Mayor Güner Detained: 'My Conscience is Clear, My Forehead is Pure'

Çankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner was detained at the airport upon his return from abroad as part of an operation against 'crime organization and bribery' in Ankara's Çankaya district.Police launched a search operation at the Çankaya Municipality building. In a statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that 36 suspects, including Çankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner, were decided to be detained for crimes such as establishing a crime organization, being a member of a crime organization, taking and giving bribes, and rigging tenders.

After the operation, Deputy Mayor Anıl Çetin made a statement, stating that the municipality's legal unit was not included in the process and said, 'The copies of computers, digital data, and files were not delivered to us.'
