Burkina Faso Cuts Diplomatic Ties with France

The West African country of Burkina Faso has severed diplomatic ties with France, citing concerns over sovereignty.
The government of Burkina Faso stated that the decision was made after a review of bilateral relations.
The administration in the capital city of Vagadugu emphasized that the principles of 'mutual respect, trust, non-interference in internal affairs, and respect for national sovereignty' are no longer present in relations with France.
The statement also claimed that France has been engaged in 'constant activism' against Burkina Faso and has supported terrorist groups responsible for violent incidents in the country and the Sahel region.
