Two Children of Brad Pitt Apply to Court to Remove 'Pitt' from Their Last Names

The children of famous American actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Zahara and Maddox, have initiated a legal process to remove 'Pitt' from their last names. If the applications are approved, the two siblings will officially use only the 'Jolie' last name.According to California court records, 21-year-old Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt applied to change her name to Zahara Marley Jolie last month. 24-year-old Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt made a similar application at the end of May to remove 'Pitt' from his last name. If no objections are received, the court is expected to make a decision in September.Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie initiated divorce proceedings in 2016, and the divorce case was officially finalized at the end of 2024. Angelina Jolie stopped using the 'Pitt' last name after the marriage officially ended in 2019. Their daughter Vivienne used the name 'Vivienne Jolie' in the poster for the musical The Outsiders, which she co-produced with her mother in 2024. The same year, their daughter Shiloh also applied to the court to officially remove 'Pitt' from her last name.
