Body of Worker Trapped in Mine Collapse Recovered After 6 Days in Bolu

The body of 49-year-old Muhammed Özkul, who was trapped in a mine collapse in Bolu's Mengen district, has been recovered.On the sixth day of the search and rescue efforts led by the Zonguldak Turkey Coal Enterprise (TTK) rescue teams, the body of a worker was extracted from the mine. The body was taken to the morgue of Mengen State Hospital for autopsy.The incident occurred on June 17 at a private mine in the Çakıllar area of the Gökçesu district, where two workers who noticed the collapse managed to escape on their own, while 49-year-old miner Muhammed Özkul was trapped under the rubble.As part of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, four suspects were detained, with one being arrested, two placed under house arrest, and one released after questioning by the prosecutor.
