UN Issues Critical Warning: No Funds Left After September

The United Nations (UN) has warned of a potential severe financial crisis in the near future due to worsening financial difficulties. UN Deputy Secretary-General Chandramouli Ramanathan emphasized the need for member states to make their contribution payments to keep the organization afloat. The current cash reserves are only sufficient until the end of August, and the UN will rely on contributions from member states to continue its activities after September. Even if the two largest budget contributors, the US and China, make their delayed payments, the organization's problems will not be completely resolved. The US owes the UN $4 billion, while China owes $455 million. The UN has been forced to implement extensive austerity measures and spending cuts due to its deepening financial crisis.The UN has warned that it may be forced to close the year nearly bankrupt. The organization will struggle to operate at full capacity if member states do not rapidly increase their contributions, despite the measures taken.
