Bingol Governorship Issues Statement on Planned Logging Activities in Forests

The Governorship of Bingol has released a statement regarding the planned logging activities in the forests, following recent social media posts. The governorship stated that all forestry activities in the city are carried out according to 20-year scientific and technical forest management plans prepared by experts. These plans are not prepared randomly, but by taking into account the ecological, social, and economic benefits of the forests, as well as the biological needs of the trees, with the aim of maintaining the health of the forest.

It is understood that the sharing and statements regarding the studies carried out by the Bingol Forest Operation Directorate in our province are due to the sensitivity of protecting our forests, one of our most valuable natural resources, and as in the rest of our country, our Forest Operation Directorate in our province carries out all forestry activities in accordance with 20-year and forestry science and technology-compatible management plans prepared by the forest management boards.

It was emphasized that all interventions are officially supervised, reported at the end of the year, and kept on record.
