First Case in the White House: Trump's Teleprompter Operator Under Investigation for Betting

A person who has been operating the teleprompter for US President Donald Trump for a long time is being investigated by a federal agency for suspected 'potential insider betting'. White House employee Gabriel Perez is accused of making a bet on a US-based prediction site. Perez allegedly made the bet in the 'mention' category, which includes social media-related bets. The site's category includes betting options such as 'Will Trump make more than 180 or 190 posts this week?' and 'Who will he mention in his posts?'. It is reported that Perez earned more than $90,000 from these transactions, but these gains have been frozen. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump is aware of the news about Perez and views the situation as 'very unfortunate, even an outright embarrassment'. Perez has been placed on unpaid administrative leave, and Trump's teleprompter will be operated by someone else during his national address on election security on Thursday.
