Global petroleum market developments, due to the uncertainty in the Strait of Hormuz, have led to an increase in oil prices. The price of Brent oil has reached $84-85 per barrel, and the price of WTI crude oil has risen to the $78-79 band. This movement in oil prices is expected to affect fuel prices in Turkey. According to sector sources, a price increase of 2.08 liras is expected for gasoline from midnight. 25% of this increase will be covered by the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV), while the remaining portion will be reflected in the pump sales price.
