Palestinian Villages in West Bank Plagued by Theft of Livestock
According to reports from the Israeli organisation Peace Now, Israeli settlers stole approximately 200 goats from two Palestinian villages in the West Bank. The incident allegedly involved Israeli soldiers and the use of pepper spray on Palestinian villagers. Footage obtained by the organisation shows young Jewish settlers herding the goats out of Deir Ibzi village on 19 July. It is reported that the Israeli Defence Ministry’s Coordination and Liaison Unit later returned 35 of the goats to their owners.Since October 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have been responsible for the deaths of 1182 Palestinians, the injury of 13,000, and the detention of 24,000 in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
