Pregnant Woman Loses Baby After Israeli Forces Delay Ambulance in West Bank
A six-month pregnant woman lost her baby after Israeli forces delayed an ambulance at a military checkpoint in the West Bank city of Nablus. According to Palestinian health officials, the woman, who was from the village of Karyut, was experiencing severe bleeding and was being taken to the hospital when the ambulance was stopped by Israeli soldiers at the Avarta military checkpoint. The health official, Bashir Karyuti, stated that the medical equipment in the ambulance needed to remain operational to keep the patient alive, but despite repeated warnings, the ambulance was held up. The ambulance eventually reached the hospital with difficulty, but the delay resulted in the loss of the baby, while the mother was saved due to the intervention of doctors.
