Bangkok Nightclub Fire: Death Toll Rises as Safety Measures Are Questioned

A nightclub fire in Bangkok, Thailand has resulted in the deaths of 30 people, with police investigating the cause of the blaze and potential safety failures.
The fire broke out near the stage on Sunday night and spread quickly due to flammable decorations. Thai Police Chief Kittiratt Phanphet stated that initial findings suggest the venue may not have taken adequate measures to ensure customer safety.
Over 70 people were injured, with 24 in critical condition. Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit in the air conditioning system.
Authorities have announced that they will review regulations on building materials and decorations used in restaurants and entertainment venues. Two members of the Thai indie music group Thotsakan, who were performing on stage at the time of the fire, were among those killed.
