Chemical Spill in Balikesir: 5 People Hospitalized

A truck collided with containers holding chemicals used for disinfectant production in Balikesir's Karesi district, causing the spill of formaldehyde onto the road. Five people affected by the incident were hospitalized.Teams from AFAD, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, fire department, police, and health services were dispatched to the scene. Citizens who received medical attention were taken to the hospital. Their condition is reported to be good. It was determined that cleaning the chemical with water would be hazardous, and it will be neutralized after covering it with sand.
