Balçova Mayor Onur Yiğit Removed from Office

The Ministry of Interior announced that Onur Yiğit, the Mayor of Balçova, has been removed from office.In the ministry's statement, the details of Onur Yiğit's removal from office were shared.

Pursuant to the decision of the Seferihisar Magistrates' Court dated 28.06.2026 and numbered 2026/63, which ruled that Onur Yiğit, the Mayor of Balçova, be placed under judicial control by not leaving his residence, within the scope of the investigation into the crime of 'bribery', Onur Yiğit has been removed from office as a temporary measure by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of Law No. 5393 on Municipalities.

Following this decision, it was announced that Onur Yiğit has been removed from his duties as the Mayor of Balçova.
