Azerbaijan Urges Israel to Reconsider 'Armenian Genocide' Decision

In a statement, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry emphasized that the transformation of historical facts related to the 1915 events into a political decision without a legal and scientific basis is unacceptable. Turkey viewed the move as a political maneuver aimed at overshadowing the situation in Gaza. The decision was unanimously approved by the Israeli government the day before. However, the decision is not yet final, as it needs to be voted on by the Knesset (Israeli Parliament) in a plenary session. The Turkish Foreign Ministry evaluated Israel's move as a politically motivated step, suggesting that it is related to Israel's potential trial at the International Court of Justice due to its actions in the Gaza Strip, and that Israel is trying to conceal its own actions.
