Azerbaijan Provides Significant Financial Support to Palestinian Embassy
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved an official protocol to provide financial support to the Palestinian Embassy in Baku. This critical agreement establishes the legal framework for financial and technical support for Palestine's diplomatic mission. The Azerbaijani Presidency announced that President Aliyev has given final approval to the financial support protocol signed between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Palestine on July 10.The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs will formally notify the Palestinian government of the completion of the legal procedures for the assistance to be transferred to the embassy. Azerbaijan had previously approved a similar financial aid agreement in 2011 and provided support to Palestine's diplomatic mission in Baku. Diplomatic relations between the two countries, established in 1992, continue to develop with mutual support on humanitarian aid and international platforms. The Azerbaijani administration maintains a clear stance on Palestine based on UN resolutions while sustaining its strategic partnership with Israel. President Aliyev reiterates his support for the two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The approved protocol demonstrates Azerbaijan's continued commitment to balanced diplomacy in the Middle East and its humanitarian and diplomatic commitments to the Palestinian people.
