Funeral Services for Ayatullah Hamaney to be Held in Iraq

In Iraq, funeral services will be held in Kerbala and Najaf for Ayatullah Ali Hamaney, the former Iranian religious leader who was killed in a US attack. The head of the security commission, Major General Saad Maan, announced that Ayatullah Hamaney's body will be brought to Najaf on July 7 and a funeral service will be held with the participation of the public after the official welcoming ceremony.
The funeral service in Najaf will start at 06.00 on July 8 from Kufe Junction and will continue through Sadrayn Square to 20th Revolution Junction. On the same day, the funeral service in Kerbala will start at 16.00, and the procession will move from Ebu Mehdi el-Mühendis Street towards the tombs of Imam Hussein and Imam Abbas.
The Supreme Committee has prepared a flexible plan to facilitate citizens' access to Najaf and Kerbala. After the completion of the funeral services, the body will be transferred to Iran.
Meanwhile, it was announced that the funeral services will not be held in Baghdad due to the recognized 24-hour period, and the program will be limited to Najaf and Kerbala only.
