Europe is experiencing one of the most severe heatwaves in its history. More than 250 people have lost their lives across the continent, with many countries issuing red alerts.Temperatures in France are expected to rise above 40 degrees again. Red alerts have been declared in Paris and its surroundings.Tourist attractions have been closed early, hundreds of livestock have died, and over 8,000 schools have been affected. The elderly, people with chronic illnesses, and children are at high risk.The temperature inside vehicles can reach up to 70 degrees, which can be fatal within minutes.In Spain, 108 people have died due to heat-related causes, while in Italy, 9 deaths are suspected to be linked to the heatwave.A 58-year-old worker in San Martino di Lupari, near Venice, died from heat stroke while working on a water system.Other countries are also being affected. Iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Mont Saint-Michel have been closed early, and Disneyland Paris and the Louvre Museum have reduced their opening hours.Authorities have warned citizens, especially those in high-risk groups, to stay indoors. Today, 94 million people across Europe are exposed to temperatures above 35 degrees.
