Growing Passport Control Queues in Europe

The European Union's new biometric border system EES is causing long queues at major airports. During peak hours in Frankfurt and Amsterdam, waiting times have reached up to 2 hours, with some passengers reportedly missing their flights.The new Entry/Exit System (EES) in Europe requires passengers from outside the EU to have their passports, facial biometrics, and fingerprints recorded when crossing borders. However, since the system's full implementation, waiting times for passport control at major European airports have increased. According to a study by Financial Times and travel analysis group Qsensor, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Munich are among the airports with the biggest delays.
