European Air Defense Initiative: 'Super State' or Defense?

The new air defense initiative formed by Ukraine and nine European countries is seen as an important step in Europe's military structure. Valtersson states that although this coalition does not officially appear to be an alliance, it practically forms a unified European missile defense architecture. Valtersson also approaches Ukraine's reported success rates against Iskander and Kinjal missiles with skepticism, arguing that these figures are part of Ukraine's 'calculated information warfare strategy'. Predicting that this coalition will have very limited practical application in the next decade, Valtersson defines the initiative as part of the project by Brussels elites to create a 'European super state' by bypassing nation-states.
